Description

The Tuscan Mediterranean of Poggio al Tesoro was born in the Le Sondraie vineyard, located in the Livorno town of Castagneto Carducci, in Tuscany.

It is mainly produced with Syrah grapes and partly with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, harvested only by hand in the first 10 days of September and selected with the help of the sorting belt. After the soft pressing of the grapes, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28 ° C for about 12 days. The malolactic fermentation follows and an aging of 8 months in second passage barriques.

It has an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with pleasant fruity aromas of blackberry, plum and cherry, enriched with spicy notes of pepper. On the palate it is rich and complex, pleasant and easy to drink.

Perfect to accompany meat-based dishes, cold cuts and medium-aged cheeses, this red wine lends itself to be consumed even slightly fresh in combination with elaborate fish dishes.
