Description
Caberlot is a variety that comes from a spontaneous cross in nature between the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties. It comes from vineyards located in the province of Arezzo, straddling the Apennine and Chianti Classico hills.
Caberlot is vinified in steel and then destined for a long aging in wood. For 22 months the wine ages in barriques from Burgundy, partly new, and completes its journey with an additional 18 months in bottle.
At sight it has a dense and impenetrable ruby red color. The nose shows spicy and toasted notes reminiscent of pepper, nutmeg, tobacco and coffee, on a ripe fruity background. In the mouth it is tannic, fresh and savory, wrapped in a persuasive softness that defines a full body. Long, very long persistence.
Perfect to accompany important second courses based on meat and game, typical of the local tradition. Excellent with stewed wild boar.
