Description
Excelsus del Castello di Banfi is a Supertuscan of great elegance, which expertly combines Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes with the territory of Montalcino. The vines grow on moderately sloping soils, rich in clay sediments with pebbles and limestone.
The vinification takes place in combined steel and French oak vats at a controlled temperature. The wine ages for approximately 18 months in French oak barriques, developing complexity and structure. The result is a wine of great depth and intensity, with a marked territorial personality.
On the nose it offers elegant and complex aromas, with notes of cherry, raspberry, aromatic herbs and toasted almonds. On the palate it is broad and structured, with sweet and persistent tannins that accompany a long and enveloping finish.
Perfect when paired with red meat dishes and mature cheeses, it is a wine for long aging.
