Description

Esse di La Torre is a wine made from only Syrah grapes harvested from the Sottocantina vineyard, which covers half a hectare and is located in the municipality of Montecarlo, in the province of Lucca.

In the first half of September, the grapes are harvested manually and placed in crates. The must obtained from the gentle pressing of the berries ferments in wooden vats for 7-10 days at a temperature of 28°C, followed by a maceration of 15 days. After malolactic fermentation in barriques, the wine ages in new French oak barriques for 18 months and for an additional 12 months in glass bottles.

It presents itself to the eye with an intense ruby red color. The nose announces itself rich with fruity notes of cherry and blackberry, combined with spicy and mentholated sensations. The taste is soft and balanced, faithfully reflecting the olfactory perceptions.

Ideal in combination with first courses and dishes based on red meat typical of Tuscan culinary tradition, it also pairs well with game and matured cheeses.
