Description
The Toscana Rosso Mormoreto di Frescobaldi was born in the vineyard of the same name located on the Castello di Nipozzano estate.
It is produced with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Merlot grapes, harvested manually between the end of September and the beginning of October. The grapes ferment in stainless steel vats at a temperature below 35 ° C for about 15 days and each variety is vinified and macerated separately for 35 days in steel, with a stay on the skins for 20 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in oak barriques, partly new and partly second passage, for 24 months, then refines in the bottle for at least 6 months.
It is a ruby red wine with violet reflections on the nail. The nose opens with fruity hints of blueberry and black cherry, followed by notes of iodine, cinchona and pleasant balsamic hints of eucalyptus and mint; on the finish it has a slight cardamom spice. In the mouth it is silky and velvety, with remarkable tannins and an excellent structure. The finish is very long and persistent and has hints of iodine and balsamic nuances.
Perfect to accompany long-cooked red and white meat dishes such as braised, stewed and stewed, it is ideal in combination with aged cheeses.
