Description

The White Wolf is the rarest and most prestigious label in the Tenuta l'Impostino range, a winery in the Tuscan Maremma.

Composed of 60% Sangiovese and 40% Merlot, this red originates from the Pietroso vineyard, located 300 meters above sea level on the dominant hill. The vines, planted in 2002, are planted on clayey-calcareous soil, rich in skeleton. Between the end of September and the middle of October, the grapes are selected and harvested manually, and then selected again once they reach the cellar. Alcoholic fermentation takes place inside steel tanks, while malolactic fermentation, which spontaneously starts, takes place inside large wooden barrels. It ages for 24 months in French oak barrels and for a further 6 months in bottle.

Its color is ruby red, with some hints of garnet hues. The perfume is articulated on notes of cherry, black currant and plum jam, on a background of intriguing tertiary notes of leather, licorice and spices. The sip makes its entrance in a soft but decisive way, supported by a good body and freshness. It closes in a balsamic persistence.

Perfect to accompany a plate of pappardelle with wild boar ragout
