Description
The Capatosta di Poggio Argentiera is a blend of Sangiovese and Alicante and was born in Maremma, in southern Tuscany. The grapes come from the vineyards located in the Baccinello area (350 meters above sea level) which rest on soils rich in pebbles of alluvial origin with a prevalence of limestone clays. The company was born in 1997 with the purchase of Podere Adua and since 2009 it has been practicing organic farming.
Following the manual harvest, the grapes are macerated on the skins for approx. 2 weeks, to then be fermented in steel at a controlled temperature, where they remain also for maturation.
Lively ruby red in color, the nose opens on aromas of berries, raspberries and cassis, with notes of licorice. The sip is warm, with sculpted tannins and a persistent finish.
Ideal in combination with grilled red meats, for example with a Florentine steak accompanied by grilled vegetables.
