Description

Mordese is a Tuscan wine from the young Valle Picciola company, located in the Pievasciata area, in the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga (SI), where it manages 105 hectares of vineyards following the principles of sustainable agriculture. The Cabernet Franc vineyards are located at 350-400 masl

The wine is a pure Cabernet Franc, harvested in early September. Maceration and alcoholic fermentation take place in steel tanks at a controlled temperature for 20-25 days. The malolactic fermentation instead takes place in French oak barriques (of which 50% are new), where the wine is then aged for 12 months. Bottle aging is 8-10 months.

In the glass the wine has an intense ruby red colour. The nose opens on aromas of plum, balsamic and spicy notes. The sip is warm and structured, with fine and silky tannins.

Ideal in combination with rich cold cuts and cheese appetizers, savory first courses, roasted and grilled meats.
