Description

Paangold Tokaji Sárgamuskotály Fordítás is a sweet white wine produced in the Tokaj region, Hungary. This wine is made from grapes grown in 28 hectares of vineyards, harvested by hand during the various ripening periods between September and December.

The production process of Tokaj Fordítás involves the addition of fresh must or base wine to the pomace previously used to produce Tokaji Aszú. This process extracts additional sugars and aromas from the pomace, creating a wine that retains many of the characteristics of Tokaji Aszú, but with a slightly lower concentration of flavors. The result is a sweet and aromatic wine, with a complex and rich flavor profile, similar but distinctly different from Tokaji Aszú. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 7 years in 25-30 year old oak barrels, with an annual process of decanting and cleaning the barrels. This process gives the wine its typical complexity and aromatic richness, characteristic of true Tokaji Fordítás.

The wine has a medium amber color. On the nose, it offers intense aromas dominated by yellow flowers, quince, honey and dried apricot, enriched by the character of toasted dried fruit resulting from barrel maturation. On the palate, it has a velvety texture complemented by a beautiful acidity that gives great balance to the wine, with notes of honey, apricot, toasted nuts and herbs, and a long mineral finish.

It pairs perfectly with desserts based on dried fruit or blue cheeses.
