Description
Andrea Franchetti, for over twenty years, has been making great wines on Etna. His estate is located in the Passopisciaro area, on the north side of the volcano and includes a park of old vines, which are between 70 and 100 years old, located in various districts and at altitudes ranging from 550 to 1000 meters. above sea level.
Franchetti Rosso represents an absolute level of excellence. It is made with grapes from non-native Etna vines, the Petit Verdot Bordeaux and the Cesanese d'Affile Lazio, which have settled very well on the volcanic soils and the cool climate of the altitude. At the end of the classic red vinification, the wine matures, first in French oak barriques and then in concrete tanks.
It is a powerful and structured red, with an intense red color. The bouquet offers aromas of small dark berries, hints of undergrowth and spices. The sip is elegant, with ripe tannins, very rich aromas, a fresh and harmonious finish.
To combine with stewed meats, roasts and game.
