Description
The Alberelli di Giodo red wine from the Giodo company is produced in Sicily by the oenologist Carlo Ferrini and his daughter Bianca.
Composed exclusively of Nerello Mascalese grapes, these are fermented for 7 days in steel vats with a 20-day maceration on the skins. The wine is aged in 500 and 700 l tonneaux for 18 months, followed by a passage in concrete. Finally, the wine remains in the bottle for 12 months before being marketed.
Deep ruby red in colour, fruity aromas of wild berries and black cherry are perceived on the nose, followed by spicy notes. The sip is dry and elegant, with ripe tannins and a long persistence.
It goes very well with baked pasta with mushrooms and beef and game stews.
