Description
The Nerello Cappuccio of the Calabretta winery was born on the slopes of Etna, in Calderara di Randazzo, in the province of Catania.
It is produced exclusively with Nerello Cappuccio grapes, harvested by hand. The grapes undergo destemming-crushing, to then be vinified with spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks for 5 days. The wine ages in used barriques and large Slavonian oak barrels for a few months before being placed on the market.
It has a ruby red colour. On the nose it is enveloping and elegant, with a bouquet characterized by aromas of blueberry and blackberry, aromatic herbs and sweet spices. The taste is fresh and dynamic, with a mineral and persistent finish.
Excellent in the company of baked pasta and roasted meats.
