Description
Terre Siciliane Rosso Hierà di Hauner is born in vineyards located in the territory of the Aeolian Islands, in the seven magnificent islands that dot the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea. Hierà derives from the ancient name of the island of Vulcano, sacred to Hephaestus, god of fire and divine blacksmith. This wine is dedicated to James Stevenson, a Scottish man of great culture, who first planted vines on this island.
It is produced with Calabrese, Alicante and Nocera grapes, harvested only by hand in mid-September. Fermentation takes place with a maceration on the skins at controlled temperature. Subsequently the wine ages in barrique for 6 months and for another 3 months in bottle, before being put on the market.
It is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with hints of red fruits, enriched with pleasant notes of tobacco and cocoa. On the palate it is harmonious and velvety, with pleasantly sweet tannins and a savory finish.
Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce and risotto, it is ideal in combination with stews and game.
