Description

Effe Emme wine was born on the Zisola estate, owned by the Mazzei family, located in Sicily, near Syracuse.

This wine is made exclusively from Petit Verdot grapes, harvested manually in September. After the classic red vinification processes, the Effe Emme is left to mature for about 16 months in small 225 liter oak barrels, half of which is new. Bottling and subsequent ageing in bottle follows.

It has a deep ruby red color. The nose is intense and elegant, with aromas of undergrowth and peat, combined with notes of ripe fruit. In the mouth it shows a great aromatic and structural complexity, with well present but refined tannins and good acidity.

Wine that is well suited to long ageing: over 20 years. It goes very well with very elaborate first courses such as pasta alla Norma or "maccaruni" with meat sauce, stewed meats and well-aged cheeses.
