Description
Calanìca Frappato from the Duca di Salaparuta winery comes from vineyards located in central-southern Sicily, on mixed-limestone-siliceous soils, characterized by a climate of mild winters, fresh springs and hot and windy summers.
Harvesting is done by hand in the second half of September. After a short maceration at low temperature aimed at promoting the extraction of aromatic and coloring substances, the must ferments for a long time in controlled temperature conditions. The wine ages for over 2 months on the fine lees.
In the glass it has a ruby red color with intense purple reflections. The nose displays a floral bouquet balanced between notes of rose and violet. In the mouth it is velvety and persistent, with well integrated tannins.
Ideal to combine with tasty fish dishes, it excels in the company of red meats and medium-aged cheeses.
