Description
The Taurasi Riserva Vigna Olmo from the Di Meo winery comes from the vineyard of the same name, located in the municipality of Montemarano, in the province of Avellino, at an altitude of 870 meters above sea level.
The harvest, exclusively manual, takes place in the first ten days of November. The must ferments with maceration on the skins for 25-30 days at a temperature of 28°C. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine matures for 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels and French oak barriques, and then refines for a further 12-24 months in the bottle.
The color is intense ruby red, revealing a rich bouquet of berries and dried flowers on the nose, which evolve towards notes of cinchona, tobacco and liquorice. The balance between velvety tannins and fresh acidity gives this red wine a harmonious structure and softness that lead towards a finish of excellent tasting persistence.
It goes beautifully with porcini mushroom soups, grilled red meats and braised beef.
