Description
Taurasi Candriano is produced by Feudi di San Gregorio, one of the largest and most successful wineries in Campania, which produces both white and red wines in Irpinia, a historic region of the Campania Apennines in the province of Avellino. The "Feudistudi" line is a limited edition that comes every year from grapes from the most expressive vineyards selected from the 800 vineyards available to the company.
The wine is made up exclusively of Aglianico grapes, which are first crushed and destemmed and then macerated and fermented in steel at 24° for 10-20 days. During this period, pumping over is also carried out. The malolactic is kept in wood. The wine thus obtained ages in 20 hl French and Slavonian oak barriques for 12-18 months, followed by 24-36 months in the bottle.
This wine has an intense ruby red color, revealing aromas of blackberry and strawberry tree, gentian and chinotto to the nose. The sip is dry and balanced, with elegant tannins and a long finish.
Ideal to be enjoyed with grilled steak, stewed game and aged cheeses.
