Description

Boekenhoutskloof's Porcupine Ridge Syrah is a wine that finds its roots in the picturesque Franschhoek valley. It benefits from the area's unique soil and climate characteristics, with sunny shale soils helping to define its distinctive character. The Porcupine Ridge range stands out for offering delicious and accessible wines, which reflect their commitment to conserving the biodiversity of their estate. It takes its name from the porcupine, a characteristic inhabitant of the farm.

The winemaking follows delicate and minimally invasive practices, which recalls the Rhône style, to maximize the varietal expression of the Shiraz. The refinement in used French oak barriques allows the qualities of the fruit to be highlighted without overpowering them with the flavors derived from the wood.

It has an intense ruby red color. On the nose, it is bold and complex, offering a bouquet of dark plums, violets and black olives. In the mouth it is full-bodied, with well-adherent tannins which, together with the right acidity, create a perfect balance and give a solid structure.

The versatility of this wine makes it ideal to accompany a wide range of dishes, both fish and meat-based, without forgetting vegetarian options.
