Description
Riserva from Lagrein grapes from the classic area of Gries, in Bolzano, this Colterenzio label is the result of soils composed mainly of granite and porphyry, and of a favorable alternation of warm days and cool nights.
The vinification foresees a fermentation of 15 days in contact with the skins. The wine is transferred to wooden barrels where it undergoes malolactic fermentation, and then refined for a period of 16 months in oak barrels and for another 10 months in the bottle.
In the glass it has a ruby color tending to purple. The bouquet recalls floral scents of violets, well blended with fruity perceptions of blackberry and black cherry, with touches of roasting, coffee and chocolate in the finish. On the palate it is powerful and soft, with young but well integrated tannins.
Excellent to accompany red meats and game, it is an excellent accompaniment to seasoned spicy cheeses.
