Description
Lagrein is a typical red wine from South Tyrol, born from an autochthonous grape variety whose roots sink deep into it, drawing on a wealth of organic substances capable of generating authentic and aromatic rich expressions.
The must ferments for 8 days on its steel skins. Malolactic and aging follows for a few months, divided between concrete tanks and large-capacity wooden barrels.
The colour is intense garnet red with purple flashes. The nose reveals clear hints of violet and small black fruits, to which is subsequently added an intense spiced imprint characteristic of the ageing in wood. It has a powerful and structured but at the same time elegant sip.
Recommended in combination with traditional South Tyrolean dishes, it can be enjoyed with speck and salami but also with roasts and game.
