Description

The Fass Nr. 9 Vernatsch comes from the vineyards located around the village of Girlan and the village of Colterenzio, at an altitude of 450 meters. These moraine hills, dating back to the glacial era, offer optimal sunshine and morainic-gravelly soil which contribute to the creation of an elegant wine with good aging potential.

The Vernatsch (Schiava) grapes, coming from vineyards with an average age of 30 years, are harvested manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. After destemming, fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats, followed by malolactic fermentation. The refinement continues for 5 months in large oak barrels.

At sight, it has a ruby red color. On the palate, it is complex and pleasantly harmonious, with a persistence that makes it extraordinary and easy to drink.

Recommended with typical South Tyrolean first courses such as dumplings or Schlutzkrapfen, it also pairs perfectly with white meat or a snack with cold cuts.
