Description
Girlan's Flora Pinot Noir Riserva comes from the "Girlan", "Mazon" and "Pinzon" subzones. The selected vineyards are located at an altitude between 380 and 530 meters above sea level and come from moraine deposits on volcanic porphyry rock and clayey limestone soils exposed to the west, giving the wine ideal microclimatic characteristics.
The harvest takes place manually in small containers for transport to the cellar. After destemming, the must is transferred by gravity into steel vats for alcoholic fermentation for 20-22 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 12 months in barriques (70%) and small 12 hl wooden barrels (30%), followed by further refinement in the bottle for 6 months.
The wine has a ruby red color and is characterized by fresh aromas of berries and black cherries. It is elegant and fruity, with very velvety tannins and a long-lasting finish.
It pairs very well with white meats, roasts and grilled fish.
