Description

The Pinot Blanc Leopoldine from Tenuta Castel Sallegg is produced with 100% Pinot Bianco grapes from the historic Preyhof vineyard in Caldaro, located at 550 meters above sea level. In this area, the fresh autumn breezes help develop a wine with a unique character.

The winemaking process involves manual harvesting, followed by soft pressing and fermentation in stainless steel tanks, with part of the must fermented in tonneaux and French barriques. The wine then ages for 12 months on the fine lees and then for another six months in the bottle, developing great complexity and finesse.

With an intense straw yellow color, it is characterized by fruity aromas of ripe apple, apricot and hints of lemon, accompanied by notes of honey and flint. On the palate it is elegant and soft, with a lively acidity and a marked minerality, which lead to a long and persistent finish.

Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs very well with tasty pasta and rice dishes, grilled fish or meat and strong-flavoured cheeses.
