Description

The Chardonnay Marei from Tenuta Castel Sallegg is a wine of great elegance and complexity, produced with 100% Chardonnay grapes from historic vineyards near Lake Caldaro, at an altitude of 230 meters. The soil in these areas is sandy-silty, rich in calcareous gravel and humus.

The vinification involves a controlled temperature fermentation, divided between stainless steel (50%) and French tonneaux/barriques (50%), with biological reduction of the acid. The wine ages for 12 months on the fine lees, followed by a further six months of bottle aging, which enhances its complexity and balance.

Bright golden yellow in color, the aromatic profile is rich and opulent, with notes of yellow peach, ripe mango, citrus, vanilla and toasted hazelnuts. On the palate it is round and velvety, with well-integrated tannins and a nice minerality. The structure is full-bodied, with a persistent finish and a pleasant creaminess.

Perfect as an aperitif, it pairs splendidly with dishes such as veal with tuna sauce, seafood, shellfish, fish and grilled white meats.
