Description

This Pinotage is a South African wine produced by the Kanonkop company, located in Stellenbosch, one of the most famous wine-growing areas in South Africa. The story of the name "Kanonkop" is reminiscent of a cannon placed on top of Mount Simonsberg that warned farmers of the arrival of merchant ships in Table Bay, so that they could set out to barter for goods.

The fermentation of the grapes takes place in open concrete vats kept at 28 ° C, during which punching down every 2 hours is carried out. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for 18 months in new French oak barriques.

Intense purple color, the nose reveals aromas of berries, plums and spices. On the palate you can feel the silky tannins and intense fruit. Persistent finish.

This Pinotage is ideal in combination with roasted meats, curry dishes and grilled fatty fish.
