Description
The Shiraz of the Diemersdal winery is produced from a single plot of vineyard located north of the Durbanville Valley in South Africa. For 6 generations, the Diemersdal winery has been giving expression to the local winemaking tradition, which is emerging with increasing incidence in the world of viticulture.
The vineyard from which the Shiraz grapes come, which make up this wine in purity, is defined for a particular type of soil - the Red Hutton - rich in clay and organic substance. The harvest takes place after the phenolic ripening of the grapes is complete, which are collected, transported to the cellar and, here, sent to vinification. Pressing, maceration and fermentation, both alcoholic and malolactic, precede an aging in barriques for 16 months.
Its color is ruby red, intense in its deep and impenetrable hue. The nose reveals intriguing traces of black currant, leather, tobacco, pepper and other spices. In the mouth it is powerful and engaging, rich in aromatic facets that resemble chocolate and close in a pomegranate trail.
To be combined with a beef fillet cooked to perfection.
