Description

The Private Collection of the Diemersdal company is produced with a blend of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot, Petit Verdot grapes from the Cape Town area.

The first wine to be produced on the estate, it is made with grapes that benefit from the cold currents coming from the Atlantic. The grapes are harvested and vinified separately, while the fermentation takes place in open vats for 5–7 days with punching down every 4 hours. After spontaneous malolactic fermentation, the wine is decanted into 25% new French oak barriques and in which it ages for about 18 months.

Bordeaux blend for this intense ruby red wine with evident hints of plum, red fruits such as cherries and cassis, aromas of cedar and dark chocolate. On the palate it is full-bodied and well balanced with evident but balanced tannins, excellent structure and a finish of long persistence.

Ideal with stews, grilled red meats and first courses with ragout sauce.
