Description
Dry Creek Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel is a red wine made from a blend of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Alicante, sourced from vineyards averaging over 95 years of age in Dry Creek Valley, California. This wine represents the tradition and excellence of the valley's viticulture, with vineyards that are among the most precious and historic in the area.
The winemaking involves a 12-14 day fermentation in fermenters, with pumping over twice a day. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 14 months in French, Hungarian and American oak barrels, 28% of which are new. This long refinement gives the wine complexity and structure.
Dry Creek Vineyard Old Vine Zinfandel features aromas of blackberry, blueberry and boysenberry, with notes of white pepper, cardamom, toffee and marzipan. On the palate, it is complex and vibrant, with layers of black cherry and plum, nuances of coriander, mocha, allspice and violet, and fine tannins that give an elegant texture and pleasantness to the sip.
This Zinfandel pairs perfectly with grilled red meats and mature cheeses.
