Description
The Soave Classico La Froscà di Gini takes its name from the volcanic hill where the 90-year-old vineyards grow, at 180 meters above sea level. On these hills there is a microclimate that favors thermal excursions, the same ones that contribute to the creation of the variegated bouquet of this wine.
The harvest is manual and wooden crates are used to transport the grapes to the cellar. Here, after a soft pressing, the must remains in contact with the skins for a short time. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature, without sulphites, partly in stainless steel and partly in French wooden barrels aged for a minimum of 3 years. The wine is aged for at least eight months in contact with its natural fermentation yeasts, in stainless steel tanks and in small 228 l aged wooden barrels.
In the glass the wine appears straw yellow with green-gold reflections. The nose is complex and there are mineral notes, acacia flowers and white fruit. The taste is mineral and savory, with hints of flint, white and yellow fruit, lemon and almond. This Soave is suitable for aging.
The wine goes well with courtyard ragù pasta, roasted fish, white meats and cheeses.
