Description
The Nerello Mascalese of the Nicosia company is an organic wine classified as 'bio vegan wine'.
The vineyards from which this variety comes are located at an average altitude of 700 meters above sea level and grow on volcanic sands. They get a great supply of minerals before harvesting can provide the material useful for winemaking. Short maceration and a fermentation of about 10 days at a controlled temperature precede the malolactic carried out in steel tanks. A further ageing in steel and in bottle follows for a maximum of 4 months.
Lively ruby red in colour, it releases red fruits such as wild strawberries and currants on the nose, with spicy and slightly balsamic returns. Balanced on the palate, it has soft tannins and a great ease of drinking which re-proposes the intensity of red fruits for a long and harmonious finish.
It can accompany grilled vegetables and cauliflower pancakes, savoury appetizers or first courses such as tagliatelle with porcini mushrooms.
