Description
Orestiadi Ludovico is the flagship wine of Tenute Orestiadi, a cru created and baptized in honor of Ludovico Corrao, an exemplary, simple and elegant man who loved to enjoy the scents and colors of life and which gave a lively boost to his territory of origin .
It is made from 90% Nero d'Avola grapes, harvested in the black earth of the Trapani countryside, a soil rich in silt-clay substances that make it ideal for the cultivation of this emblematic grape of the Sicily region. The blend is completed by additions of Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Following a traditional red vinification, the wine rises in steel for 4-6 months and in French oak barriques for 16-18 months, then it is left to refine for about 12 months.
Deep ruby red in color with purple hues, it begins on the nose with hints of red berry fruit reminiscent of black cherry and mulberry, and then embellished with spicy fragrances of licorice, pepper and cocoa. In the mouth it has a strong and decisive personality, which divinely combines with its breadth and palatal softness.
Wine to be proposed in an important grill with red meat, it goes well with long-aged cheeses and stewed game.
