Description
Sicily Zisola di Mazzei was born in the homonymous estate, located in south-eastern Sicily, in an area with a strong wine-growing vocation that gave rise to the Nero d'Avola grape variety.
This wine is produced with this pure grape variety, whose grapes are rigorously picked by hand between the second and third week of September and left to ferment and macerate for 14 - 16 days at a controlled temperature of 26 - 28 °. Subsequently, the wine is aged for 10 months in French oak barrels, partly new, before being bottled.
Intense red wine, opens to the nose with hints of berries, enriched with citrus notes. On the palate it is a complex and layered wine.
Ideal to accompany first courses with meat sauce and red meats, this wine surprises in combination with spicy fish soups and grilled vegetables.
