Description
Sedàra di Donnafugata comes from vineyards located on the Contessa Entellina estate in the heart of south-western Sicily.
It is mainly produced with Nero d'Avola grapes and with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah grapes, rigorously harvested by hand between August and September. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with maceration on the skins at a controlled temperature of 25-28 ° C for about 10 days. After malolactic fermentation, the wine ages in concrete wine jars for 9 months and in the bottle for another 6 months, before being released on the market.
It has a bright red color. The nose opens with an intense bouquet of red-fleshed fruits, in particular cherry, enriched with hints of rose. In the mouth it follows the sensations perceived by the nose, and proves fresh, with soft and pleasant tannins.
This red is perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauces, chicken cacciatore and barbecue. We recommend pairing with freshly seared tuna.
