Description
Planeta's Sicilia Nero d'Avola Plumbago was born in the Ulmo vineyard, located in the municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia, in the province of Agrigento. The wine takes its name from the beautiful purple flower that grows in the woods surrounding the Ulmo vineyard.
It is produced exclusively with Nero d'Avola grapes, harvested and selected only by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 25 ° C for 14 days, with repeated pumping over. Subsequently the wine is aged in barrique for 8 months and for another 6 months in the bottle before being put on the market.
It is characterized by an intense red color, with violet reflections. The nose opens with aromas of red fruits, plums and blackberries, enriched by pleasant hints of cocoa and Sachertorte. On the palate it is round, with pleasantly soft tannins.
Perfect to accompany pasta dishes and mushroom-based risottos, it is ideal in combination with red meats, white meats and stews.
