Description
The Nero d'Avola Terre del Sommacco di Mandrarossa was born on vineyards characterized by calcareous soils.
The harvest takes place during the first week of September. At the end of the harvest the grapes are fermented with maceration on the skins for 6-8 days in steel at a temperature of 22-25°C. The wine ages for months in cement tulips and 19 months in large barrels, followed by 8 months of aging in the bottle.
Intense ruby red color with violet reflections. The olfactory profile recalls the aroma of blackberry and cherry. On the palate it has a fresh and immediate sip, with delicate tannins.
It is a wine for braised and stewed game, but also enhances medium-aged cheeses.
