Description

This Nero d'Avola comes to light in the Sallier de La Tour estate of Tasca d'Almerita, located in the Palermo municipality of Monreale.

It is the result of only Nero d'Avola grapes, whose fermentation takes place in steel at controlled temperature for 20 days, with maceration on its skins. After the malolactic fermentation, the wine stays in steel tanks and partly in French oak barrels from Allier and Tronçais for about 12 months. Further refinement in the bottle follows for a period of 4 months before being placed on the market.

Intense ruby red in color, it offers hints of red fruits and licorice on the nose, immediately followed by elegant woody tones. On the palate it is dry and full-bodied, with well-domesticated tannins thanks to long aging.

Excellent with structured first courses and red meats, it goes well with game and aged cheeses.
