Description

Sicily Nerello Mascalese Ghiaia Nera is an expression of the north side of Etna where Nerello grows at high altitudes in three different Contradas with terraced vineyards designed by dry stone walls.

It is made with 100% Nerello Mascalese grapes, harvested in the second half of October. Fermentation takes place for 6 days at a controlled temperature of 25-30 °C. Once the malolactic fermentation has been carried out, ageing lasts for 12 months in oak barrels.

It has a pale ruby red colour and excellent brightness. On the nose, evident floral sensations stand out, enriched by notes of wisteria and berries. On the palate it is fresh and persistent, with silky tannins.

To be served with first courses and red meats, it is excellent in the company of game and aged cheeses.
