Description

Planeta's Sicilia Burdese comes to life from the Dispensa and Maroccoli vineyards, located between the municipalities of Menfi and Sambuca di Sicilia, in the province of Argento. The name it bears, Burdese, means Bordeaux in the local dialect and refers to the classic blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc that makes up this product.

It is produced from these grapes with a clear prevalence of Cabernet Sauvignon over Cabernet Franc. Once the grapes have been harvested in September, the must is sent to the fermentation phase, where it remains in contact with the skins for 21 days. The wine ages for 16 months in new oak barrels before being bottled.

Planeta's Burdese has a particularly intense ruby red color. The nose opens with hints of black cherry in alcohol and blueberry, accompanied by notes of leather, cocoa, iodine and rosemary. In the mouth it is juicy and dense, with a dense tannic texture and a concentrated aroma of ripe fruit.

It goes perfectly with stews and game, but is also indicated with aged cheeses and roasted onions.
