Description
Bonera di Mandrarossa was born in Menfi. on the south-western coasts of Sicily, with vineyards facing south and south-east arranged on medium-textured soils of clayey nature.
It is obtained from Nero d'Avola and Cabernet Franc grapes harvested during the first week of September. The different varieties are subjected to different maceration conditions: Nero d'Avola macerates for 6-8 days at a temperature of 22-25 ° C, Cabernet Franc for 8-10 days at 18-22 ° C. After the fermentation of the two assembled varieties, the wine ages from 3 to 6 months in barrique and ages for 4 months in the bottle.
It announces itself to the eye with a ruby red color with purple hues. The range of notes that develops on the nose traces a bouquet where aromas of red fruits alternate with notes of plum and almond. The taste is full and intense, with a good structure characterized by a well integrated tannic texture.
It goes well with grilled red meats and aged cheeses.
