Description
The Sicilia Bianco Alastro di Planeta was born in the Ulmo and Gurra vineyards, located in the municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia, in the province of Agrigento. This wine takes its name from a wild shrub that in spring fills the valleys around Lake Arancio with yellow flowers.
It is mainly produced with Grecanico grapes and Sauvignon Blanc grapes, harvested only by hand. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 15 ° C for about 12 days. Subsequently the wine ages on the fine lees for 6 months before being bottled.
Alastro is characterized by a straw yellow color with greenish reflections. The nose opens with aromas of ripe white melon and white peach from Etna, enriched by pleasant sweet notes of white chocolate and meringue. On the palate it is fine, fresh and pleasantly soft. The wine presents a finish with a return of delicate floral notes.
Perfect to accompany the first courses of Mediterranean cuisine and vegetarian cuisine, it is ideal in combination with dishes based on fish and shellfish.
