Description
Savennières Les Vieux Clos is a white wine produced in the Loire region, France. This wine is made from Chenin Blanc grapes grown on shale soils, with vineyards that have an average age of 33 years. Nicolas Joly manages the Clos de la Coulée de Serrant, using biodynamic farming methods.
The vinification involves soft pressing, spontaneous fermentation and aging for 8 months on the fine lees in used double oak barriques. This process gives the wine considerable complexity and power.
Savennières Les Vieux Clos has an opulent and elegant taste, with notes of flowers, fruit and vanilla. Full-bodied, with a mineral touch and a long and persistent finish.
This wine pairs perfectly with moments of reflection, to be opened at least an hour before to fully enjoy its extraordinary qualities.
