Description
Vulcaia was, together with Vulcaia Fumé, the first wine from the Inama winery. It is produced in the Soave Classico vineyards, particularly in the area at the foot of Monte Foscarino. Given the volcanic soil in which the vines were planted, Vulcaia appears to be a particular expression of Sauvignon which here, in the Soaves area, loses the typical varietal notes to make room for a completely new version of the French variety.
Fermentation and refinement on the fine lees take place in steel.
It is characterized by an intense yellow color. The nose opens with a bouquet of citrus fruits and sweet flowers, difficult to trace back to Sauvignon. On the palate it is pleasantly mineral, enriched by notes of citrus and dried fruit that persist in the long finish.
The harmony of this wine is an excellent accompaniment to fish dishes such as oysters and shellfish, or white meats such as rabbit. It also goes well with difficult-to-match foods such as asparagus.
