Description
The Santenay 1 er Cru Clos des Graviéres Vieilles Vignes is a refined expression of Pinot Noir produced in one of the most prestigious regions of Burgundy. The Vieilles Vignes mention is due to the age of the vines, over 50 years.
The manual harvesting of the grapes precedes a partial pressing of the bunches, a part of which reaches the vat with whole grapes. Fermentation takes place with maceration in contact with the skins. Once the malolactic fermentation is completed, the wine matures for 18 to 24 months in oak barrels, a choice that will significantly contribute to the complexity of the wine.
At sight it presents a brilliant ruby red color. Delicate aromas of cherry, raspberry and violet emerge on the nose, which blend with spicy notes and hints of oak. In the mouth the wine stands out for its elegance and silky texture, with fine and well integrated tannins.
This wine pairs beautifully with game dishes, red meats and mature cheeses.
