Description
Sancerre Rouge Raudonas from Domaine Etienne et Sebastien Riffault is a red wine produced in the Loire region of France. This wine is made with Pinot Noir grapes grown on clay-limestone soils.
The winemaking involves spontaneous fermentation and maceration of the whole bunches for 10 days in stainless steel tanks. Subsequently, the wine ages for 24 months on the fine lees in the same containers and for another 12 months in old oak barrels. This long refinement allows the wine to develop a complex structure and great elegance.
Sancerre Rouge Raudonas has a rich aromatic bouquet with notes of red fruits and a vegetal hint derived from maceration with the stems. On the palate, the wine is elegant and lively, with crunchy tannins and a persistent finish. The wine's fine structure and liveliness make it capable of competing with some of Burgundy's best Pinot Noir.
This wine pairs perfectly with meat dishes, goose and duck terrines, and mature cheeses.
