Description
Maiana Rosso di Leone De Castris comes from vineyards located in the Salice Salentin area, in the province of Lecce.
This wine is mainly produced with Negroamaro grapes and completed with a hint of Malvasia Nera grapes, harvested in late September. After a maceration process at a controlled temperature of 20-22 ° C for at least 10 days and subsequent fermentations, the wine ages in oak barrels for about 6 months and then for another 3 months in the bottle before being marketed.
Leone De Castris' Maiana is characterized by an intense red color. The nose opens with a mixture of fruity plum and spicy vanilla notes. On the palate it is soft, velvety, with very pleasant and well distributed tannins.
Perfect in combination with roasts and cheeses, it expresses its best with cold cuts and cold cuts.
