Luca Gardini
A pure Primitivo with a pleasant temper. Faceted nose, wild plum, iodized and undergrowth touches, nuances of violet and nutmeg. Crunchy mouth, brackish tannins. Final with a fruity-floral return.

Description

This Salento Primitivo from Masseria Ficarigna is an example of the qualitative excellence produced in the Salento region, of which the winery becomes an ambassador. The name Ficarigna is in fact the Salento translation of the prickly pear fruit which symbolizes Salento in the collective imagination.

After the manual harvest of the fully ripe grapes, we proceed to fermentation at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrique before being bottled.

In the glass it has a deep ruby red color with purple nuances. The nose recalls toasted and coffee sensations that are the background to hints of red berry fruit. On the palate it shows warmth and a round, enveloping and balanced taste.

It is recommended together with game and aged cheeses. Try it in combination with chestnuts.
