Description
The Salento Masseria Maime dei Marchesi Antinori was born in the vineyards of the Tomaresca farm, owned by the Antinori family and located in Puglia.
It is produced with 100% Negroamaro grapes, harvested at the end of September slightly overripe to enhance its phenolic potential. After pressing, the grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26 - 28 ° C and are left to macerate for 15-18 days with frequent pumping over and soft delèstages. Afterwards, the wine is placed in French and Hungarian oak barrels for malolactic fermentation, for a period of 12 months. Once bottled, it is aged for another 12 months.
It is a wine with an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with hints of red fruits, in particular cherry, black cherry and red mulberry, accompanied by spicy notes of licorice, cloves and vanilla. In the mouth it is dry, with a vein of contained but lively acidity and balanced tannins. Overall it is an elegant wine, with a good persistence.
Perfect in combination with grilled red meats and roasts, it is ideal to accompany medium and high seasoned cheeses.
