Description
Susumaniello Velarino is inspired by the large curtain that since ancient Rome has separated the stage from the public and creates a sense of expectation that results in the full appreciation of the show, just as happens to those who choose and uncork these wines.
Susumaniello grapes are harvested when slightly overripe, then de-stemmed and pressed. The vinification takes place in thermo-regulated steel vats for 10 days. Ageing takes place for 70% in French and American oak barrels and 30% in steel for a period of 6–8 months.
Intense ruby red in colour, it has a nose rich in aromas of purple flowers, ripe red fruits and spicy notes, especially licorice. The sip is warm, elegant, with well perceptible tannins.
Ideal to accompany roast duck or aged cheeses.
