Description
The Primitivo del Salento Torcicoda of the Marchesi Antinori comes from the vineyards located in the Maìme estate of S.Pietro Vernotico, in the province of Brindisi.
It is produced exclusively with Primitivo grapes, harvested during the first week of September. After the pressing, the grapes undergo a maceration with soft pumping over and delèstage. Then fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26 ° C. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation in oak barrels, where it matures for about 10 months, followed by an additional 8 months of aging in bottle.
Torcicoda is characterized by an intense ruby red color. The nose opens with fruity hints of cherries, strawberries and licorice, enriched with pleasant spicy notes. On the palate it is rich, full-bodied, and with a lively and pleasant tannin.
Perfect to accompany first courses with meat sauce, it is ideal in combination with red, wet and roasted meats.
