Description
Sasseo was born in the vineyards of the Masseria Altemura estate, owned by the Zonin family, located in the Salento area of Agro Torre di Santa Susanna. This wine represents one of the company's Crus.
Obtained exclusively from Primitivo grapes, harvested at advanced ripeness, the must undergoes a fermentation process of about 2 weeks at controlled temperatures. It then completes the vinification by maturing for at least 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels and refining for a long period in the bottle.
Sasseo is characterized by a very deep ruby red color. The nose reveals intense aromas that recall plum and red fruit jam, enriched with sweet hints of spices. In the mouth it shows a good body and a bewitching enveloping, with a very ripe fruitiness that accompanies sweet and smooth tannins.
Perfect to accompany typical Apulian cuisine such as "N'capriata" of broad beans and chicory, it is also excellent with grilled red meats and baked lamb.
